6 Spring Cleaning Tips For Your Body

Spring is in the air!

Spring is a season of renewal and regeneration-- seeds sprout, flowers blossom, and the sun's rays warm the earth. Just as it's a great time to clean and refresh your home, it's also a great time to cleanse and rejuvenate your body! An acupuncture point combination that perfectly illustrates this is Four Gates 四關. This is one of the top point combinations for promoting circulation in the body. Traditionally in China there was a wall around the city center, with a gate in each direction. When the gates are opened, the energy and resources of the city can circulate freely. I think of the combination Four Gates 四關 like the first warm spring day when you open all the windows in your home-- the stale, dusty air flows out, and the sweet spring air flows in freshening your home! Activating circulation in your body allows fresh, vital energy and nourishment t

o flow more freely, and supports your system in removing waste products that have been accumulating.

6 Spring Cleaning Tips For Your Body

Get Acupuncture! By promoting circulation with acupuncture we can support your natural detox pathways. Acupuncture can help reduce stress, support digestion and metabolism, reduce pain, relieve allergies, and much more.

Get Massage! Massage is a great way to promote circulation and activate your lymphatic system to remove toxins. Massage also can reduce pain, alleviate stress, and much more.

Eat Green! Dark leafy greens (especially kale, spinach, chard, and collards), fresh herbs (cilantro, parsley, dill, etc), and green vegetables (asparagus, peas, broccoli, brussels sprouts) are all great sources of chlorophyll, which is anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and supports detoxification.

Get Outside! The best way to get your circulation pumping is to get outside and exercise! Even just a 30 minute walk outside can do wonders for your body and mind.

Reduce Toxin Exposure! As you're supporting your body in letting go of toxins and waste products, it's important to limit any new toxins you could be adding in. Buying organic foods, using natural cleaning products, and reducing your intake of caffeine, alcohol, and processed foods are great ways to take a load off your detox organs. Drink Water! Make sure you're drinking at least 2 liters of water every day. This will support your body to help get rid of toxins.
